Many situations require a broader or systems approach to answering the questions of why, what, and how? The Theory of Constraints provides a “core” toolbox, which we complement with Scenario Planning, Appreciative Inquiry, Lean, and Six Sigma to meet each client’s goals and challenges.
TOC begins with the premise that an organization or system is limited, at any point, by only one or two actual constraints — it could be a process, resource, sales orders, or even internal policies.
Once constraints are identified and prioritized, additional TOC tools are used to systematically eliminate them, one at a time. This "every step a firm step" approach minimizes disruptions while delivering the fastest improvement ROI.
Speaking of Lean and Six Sigma, TOC is very useful when Lean or Six Sigma programs are "in flight" but needing additional focus or a faster approach to ideation and planning.
While most of our engagements are customized, we do offer the classic TOC 4x4, an integrated program of 3-4 days of customized TOC training followed by another 3-4 days of workshop focused a major organizational challenge.
Our TOC training is designed for adult learners per ATD guidelines. This means participants use real work situations, it's hands-on, and designed to improve interaction with peers — particularly those across organizational silos. And since we use real work situations, our classes double as workshops delivering immediate value.
To insure the security of sensitive information, our TOC training is typically conducted in private sessions for a single company.
